Thousands of data are sent and received by users in the Internet every second. Just imagine how web developers manage to handle such large volume of data. Most of these are data that potential customers are looking for. If you can find the people who are looking for data or information related to your site, you can direct them to your site and increase your web traffic.
The more traffic you get, the better it is for your site to become successful and profitable.
How can you determine the traffic that flows from a variety of websites? One parameter is by the number of visitors and the number of pages that they view. The website moderator supervises both incoming and outgoing traffic to determine which parts or mostly visitors view pages of it.
Let us say for instance, you have accessed the web page of a certain site. Maybe you will notice that there is a certain figure in the page that says, “Welcome! You are the 999,999th visitor in this site.” That is one way the site is determining the traffic in that certain page.
Measuring Web Traffic
By measuring and analyzing your web sites, web traffic you will see whether your site is popularly viewed. However, how is this done?
Traffic around your site is analyzed by viewing the traffic statistics found in the web server record file. It is an automatically generated list of all the pages served.

Editor’s Note : The below article is a written by one of my favorite internet marketing mentors Jimmy D. Brown, the author of “Affiliatenaire“. He provide you with a step-by-step system for effectively writing article to promote affiliate program using article marketing.
Using ezine articles is a great way to promote your favor affiliate program. What I’d like to do in this article is provide you with a simple system for effectively writing an ezine article that strategically promotes your offer.
There are five steps…
1. CHOOSE THE OFFER YOU WISH TO PROMOTE
This one is kind of a no-brainer. It all begins with deciding what you want to promote. What offer would you like to send traffic to.
HINT: You can promote your affiliate link directly, but what works better is to promote a list at YOUR site which you then use to promote your affiliate link over and over again after the visitor becomes a subscribers.
2. DETERMINE YOUR “USEFUL, BUT INCOMPLETE” APPROACH
I love to use what I have coined as the “useful, but incomplete” approach when using freebies of any kind. (Ezine articles, free eBooks, reports, eCourses, etc.)
What I mean by that is simply this: You provide your reader with “useful” information (something they find of value and are able to actually apply) but make certain that it is “incomplete” in that they can better use the information by making a purchase.

There are more people to try to make money with affiliate marketing these days, but most of them fail. While some affiliate marketers (affiliates) enjoy financial freedom with their online business. What makes those affiliate marketers successful? It is simply because they were able to convert the visits of Internet users into sales.
How is it possible for affiliates to easily convince visitors to purchase their products? The answer lies in pre-selling. The big secret in affiliate marketing success is an effective pre-selling. Pre-selling happens when the visitor is already willing to purchase the product even before he clicks the banner that will link him to the merchant’s website.
In pre-selling, the target customer is already convinced of the importance of a certain product. And by the time the target customer arrives in the merchant’s website, he will immediately proceed to the order form page. Thus, the affiliate gets a high conversion of visits into sales. But how will an affiliate conduct an effective pre-selling?
